Volunteer

Time is a precious gift. Helping Hands Outreach Center is staffed 100% by volunteers.  Volunteers sharing their time and their talents are integral to the work of HHOC.  We rely totally on volunteers to accomplish our mission.

Volunteers meet with our clients, answer the phones, stock the warehouse, troubleshoot our technology. They work regular shifts and participate in occasional projects.  We encourage business work groups, church groups, youth groups, and individuals who want to make a difference.  HHOC values all our volunteers!

To Volunteer contact the center during business hours at 537-437-8880 or email infohhoc@gmail.com.

Food & Personal Care Item Donations

Much of the food we share comes from donations from individuals and groups in our community. Throughout the year, we rely on others to bring food staples, holiday basics and even personal care items that are given to our clients.

Here is more information about the food we share with our clients:

  • We can accept only unexpired food.
  • Donations are accepted during regular business hours – Tuesday – Thursday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Due to health concerns, we must discard food left outside our doors after business hours.
  • Fresh produce from home and community gardens is welcomed! Due to Health Department rules, we cannot accept home-canned or baked foods.

Food and In-Kind Needs

  • Canned and non-perishable foods and garden produce
  • Toilet paper and personal care items
  • Diapers and infant care items
  • Feminine care and adult care products
